![]() It seems the when the car is sitting level, engine off, and ignition on, the fuel gauge will read the current amount in the tank. I have been able to do some considerable driving on this system, and have now noticed something that was not expected. ![]() I'll update this if I figure out a better way.Ĭlick to expand.Thanks. I maybe able to design a system that fits with less parts, but the issue is the lack of room above the fuel tank. Using flexible hose allows for more routing flexibility. If you opt for a check valve, I used the russell as its only $40 The factory hard line is 5/16 and -6 is 3/8, the return line is 1/4 and -4 is 1/4ġx oring to seal the bulkhead to the basket cover (NAPA)Ģx -6 hose end or if you want to retain the pump install kit, use a 45 or 90 degree hose end inside the basket Parts list includes the following for -6, depends on what your end goal is you may want -8. Ideally do not drill out the orifices, if they are already drilled, just realize that you will have a larger pressure loss on the feed side, but should still be less than 5 lbs max, if it exceeds that then you need to restrict the orifices for the venturi back to stock sizes of. you can save the spring and rubber valve just in case you need to put it back to stock. Remove the vented cover by heating the edge with a lighter and popping it free. Do not overtighten, all that is required is to seal the hole. Use a lighter to heat the end of the bolt so that you don't crack the plastic as you screw it in. I just wanted to add a little to your return line dilemma - I am employing a similar system shortly as i am also tired of running out of fuel supply when the tank is not at least a 1/4 full.Ĭlick to expand.A standard 10 mm head bolt with 6x 1.00 mm machine threads (I can't recall the length, just measure the depth to the hole from the lip and add 2mm) and a tapered end is what plugs the relief valve. The check valve will still keep the system pressurized and no matter what the flow rate of the pump, you will always have pressured fuel feeding the venturi's. or if using a surge tank - the return from the surge to the fuel tank would go into the new AN bulkhead. You then need to get a 90 deg AN bulkhead fitting and drill a hole in the basket cover plate to let fuel back from the rail - completely unrestricted. since the holes are so tiny, supply fuel pressure should not drop but a pound or two. the t section of this will go back to the factory return inlet and power the scavenging systems. ![]() The solution - using the stock sized venturi orifices in both the pump housing scavenge (the blue thingy) and the passenger side venturi scavenger (the main return line restriction), you would need to seal off the return line bypass valve (the thingy with the spring in it that lets over pressured fuel flow back into the basket.)Īfter the surge tank but before the check valve, you insert an AN tee. DO NOT TURN THE TOP!!! YOU WILL BREAK THE WIRES!!! Then screws on the top til tight with 24mm socket / wrench.Ĭlick to expand.I just wanted to add a little to your return line dilemma - I am employing a similar system shortly as i am also tired of running out of fuel supply when the tank is not at least a 1/4 full.
